Alane Atchley, M.S., LMFT

Welcome. I'm guessing you're tired.

Not just regular, get-a-good-night's-sleep tired, but deeply exhausted from carrying the invisible mental load for everyone, over-functioning, keeping every plate spinning, and making sure the ship stays afloat while pretending it is effortless. Maybe you are the go-to problem solver who has a hard time saying no, or the high achiever who feels like everything will crumble if you slow down for even a second. If you are stuck in old patterns, burnt out by high-pressure expectations, or simply tired of abandoning yourself to keep the peace, you are in the right place.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is therapy with you actually like?

Therapy with me is a collaborative, real-talk space. There are no blank walls, rigid checklists, or clinical jargon. We will talk openly about what is going on, look at the underlying patterns keeping you stuck, and work together to help you feel grounded and clear.

Do you see clients in person or online?

I provide online therapy sessions via secure telehealth to clients across North Carolina and Texas. Virtual therapy allows you to fit supportive, intentional care directly into your busy schedule without adding another commute to your day.

What kind of issues do you specialize in treating?

I focus heavily on burnout, boundary work, high-functioning anxiety, relational patterns, complex family dynamics, and major life transitions. I specialize in working with high achievers, over-functioners, and chronic people-pleasers.

Do you accept insurance?

I am paneled with several major insurance providers through third-party billing platforms. Because platform coverage varies, knowing your exact insurance carrier allows me to quickly determine how we can work together or seamlessly guide you to the right next steps. If I am in-network with your plan, we will process your care through the appropriate platform to maximize your benefits. If I am out-of-network for your specific plan, I can provide a monthly superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement, or help connect you with a trusted referral.

How long does therapy usually take?

The timeline varies depending on your goals and what you are navigating. Some clients come in to process a specific transition or build practical coping strategies over a few months, while others stay longer to unpack deep-seated relational patterns and transform how they operate.

How do I know if we are a good fit?

The best way to find out is to schedule a free initial consultation call. We will chat briefly about what you are looking for, answer any questions you have, and make sure my approach aligns with what you need right now.
