Hi, I'm Alane. I'm so glad you are here!

My Story

If you're reading this, you're probably tired. Not just standard physical exhaustion, but that deep, heavy burnout that comes from carrying everything for everyone, figuring it all out on your own, and keeping every plate spinning while pretending it's effortless.

Originally from Houston, I went to Texas Tech and earned my master's in Marriage and Family Therapy in my early twenties. I spent my early career deep in clinical work with kids and families, specializing in attachment and trauma. Eventually, my path took a detour into education and corporate management, both before and during my time since landing here in Charlotte, North Carolina. I like to joke that my time in corporate leadership was really just extensive, hands-on field research.

Today, I'm actively licensed and practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist in both North Carolina and Texas.

Living in those fast-paced, high-pressure environments completely reframed how I view human behavior. Coming back to practice full-time, I brought a much deeper understanding of how the systems we live and work in shape us. Our families of origin, our past experiences, and our daily environments constantly dictate how we operate, and those systems wear on our mental health in real, tangible ways.

Full transparency: I'm still actively talking down my own nervous system from time to time.

Personally, I get it because I've been in the thick of it. I know what it's like to play the role of the default over-functioner, the chronic people-pleaser, and the burnt-out high achiever who keeps the ship moving at the complete expense of themselves. As a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, I've learned both clinically and on my own mat how uncomfortable it is to unlearn those survival habits.

Therapy with me isn't about sitting across from a blank wall or a polished expert who has it all figured out. It's a warm, real-talk space where you can drop the heavy armor, make sense of the patterns keeping you stuck, and finally give yourself the same care and energy you give to the rest of the world.

How I Work

Therapy with me is a warm, real-talk space where we drop the clinical jargon, look honestly at the patterns keeping you stuck, and work together to help you unlearn survival mode so you can finally feel grounded in your own life. I take an eclectic approach, drawing from multiple models depending on what you actually need. My primary framework comes from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), though I integrate and draw from other theories as they support your progress.

Here's a closer look at the specific approaches I draw on most. Click any card to learn more.
